68th Emmy Awards: Tatiana Maslany Lead Actress In A Drama Series For Orphan Black – Facts You Need To Know
After being snubbed last time, Tatiana Maslany pocketed the Primetime nomination for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category at the 68th Emmy Awards for her role in ABC America’s ‘Orphan Black.’ Maslany played a complex multi-faceted character of a young woman who realises she is a clone, that’s 12 in total.Advertisement
Her acting in 12 different roles has earned her a number of other titles, apart from the 68th Emmy nomination, that include two Critics’ Choice Awards, a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nomination, a Television Critics Association Award and a Young Hollywood Award.
“I feel truly humbled and honored to be nominated for this year’s Emmys,” Tatiana Maslany was quoted as saying by the BBC America. “I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last four years doing a job I adore and I’m very grateful to the creators of our show and to the tireless team who help make it come alive. The show wouldn’t be possible, though, without the support of our extraordinary passionate fans. This nomination means so much to me and to all of us at Orphan Black. Thank you to the Academy!”
Born on September 22, 1985, Tatiana Maslany is a Canadian actress with Ukrainian, Polish, German, Austrian and Romanian roots. She was snubbed from an Emmy last time and it hit the ‘Orphan Black’ fans pretty hard. However, the actress did not let the snub disappoint her and said “We’re at a point where television is extremely exciting. I just feel really lucky to be at this point in television history making a show like this.”
According to Maslany, it is music that helps her play the 12 different characters on the show. Each character has its own distinct traits and Maslany uses different songs to relate to these disparate roles, the Heavy.com reported.
Tatiana Maslany has been dating actor Tom Cullen, known for playing Lord Anthony Gillingham, for 4 years now. The two actors appeared in ‘World Without End,’ a miniseries about Black Death. The actress also said that she gets the inspiration from her brothers, who are also artists.
” [My brothers] are so much a part of who I am, and such a large part of my heart and my drive,” she told the Interview Magazine.
