68th Emmy Awards: Gaby Hoffmann Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series For Transparent – Facts You Need To Know
With the 68th Emmy Awards only a day away, everyone is now excited to see who will take home the major awards. This time, let’s take a look at Transparent’s Gaby Hoffmann and whether she has a shot at the coveted statuette.Advertisement
Hoffmann has been previously nominated for the award last year and also for Transparent. Now she will have to go against with co-star Judith Light for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
According to USA Today, Light is should win in the 68th Emmy Awards considering how good her material was. She is not alone though as Veep’s Anna Chlumsky is also slated to win this year.
After being a three-time runner up for an Emmy she’s slowly becoming overdue for the award. Her performance has been stellar enough to land her fourth nomination, but is it enough to win the award?
Serious Competition In The 68th Emmy Awards
And let’s not forget Allison Janney whose role as Bonnie Plunkett on “Mom” won her the statuette last year. The hit series will be going on its fourth season next month.
According to Seattle Pi, Janney is in a prime position for a three-peat win this year. Aside from Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series she also earned a nomination in the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards for her role in Masters of Sex.
A hat trick for the Emmy would tie her with Cloris Leachman for most acting Emmy wins of all time at eight. This might be the case as many believe she will win the award this year as well.
Given this stiff competition, this might not be the year for Gaby Hoffmann. Still that doesn’t mean that she has no chance in winning the golden statuette.
Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 68th Emmy Awards will air on September 18th from Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California.
