This is the third nomination for Andre Braugher in the category of “Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series” for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” this year at the 68th Emmy Awards.
Andre Braugher has never won an Emmy for his character as Captain Ray Holt so far. Will this be his lucky year?
If does wish to bag an Emmy this year, he will have to beat all the following nominees, reports Emmys, all of whom are pros in their own respect:
Louie Anderson as Christine Baskets (Baskets), Keegan-Michael Key as Various characters (Key & Peele), Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy (Modern Family), Tituss Burgess as Titus Andromedon (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Tony Hale as Gary Walsh (Veep) and Matt Walsh as Mike McLintock (Veep).
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is a comedy series that follows the activities and mannerisms of a group of detectives at the 99th precinct of the NYPD.
Andre Braugher plays a strict, and no-fun precinct officer, called Captain Ray Holt who was compelled to transfer to PR.
According to Gold Derby, the synopsis of the episode reads: “Jake and Holt both get in trouble when they work on a serial killer case together in secret. The Vulture asks Amy and Rosa set up his birthday party. Boyle introduces Terry to a delicious new snack.”
The episode entitled “The Oolong Slayer” has been submitted for consideration and judging purposes at the 68th Emmy Awards. Voters are also encouraged to watch the episode online at the Emmys’ official website, along with the episodes submitted by other voters, before making a decision.
Andre Braugher is an extremely gifted actor, who can take on any role on the television with as much ease as he displays on stage during theatrical plays.
Even though he has never won an Emmy for his role on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, he has double Emmys to his name – “Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series” For portraying Frank Pembleton on “Homicide: Life On the Street” and “Outstanding Lead Actor In A Mini Series Or A Movie” for embodying Nick Atwater on “Thief”, reports Emmys.
