2016 Rio Paralympics: Where To Watch On TV And Live Stream Online
2016 Rio Olympics might have ended but the fun at Rio continues with the 2016 Rio Paralympics which starts on 7th September and continues up to 18th September!Advertisement
For those who are unfamiliar with what the Paralympics is, it’s a multi-sport event, much like the Olympics, but for athletes with serious physical impairments such as lack of proper limb function, blindness, muscle power shortage and intellectual deficiency.
With the huge financial concerns plaguing the 2016 Rio Paralympics, it was doubtful if the Paralympics would at all be able to take place this year.
According to CBS Sports, the International Paralympic Committee was informed by the Rio Olympic organizing committee that they had exhausted all the allotted funds in hosting the Olympic Games and no money was left for them to spend on the Paralympics.
With just barely more than a month left for the opening ceremony of the Paralympics, the Govt. of Rio had to scramble together $46.3 million in order to save the Paralympics from getting cancelled, lest risk Brazil losing all future hope of hosting the Olympics ever again.
However, with the problems now behind them, the 2016 Rio Paralympics are about to take off. Find out where to watch the games:
