What's This?

It was a fun-filled and memorable night at the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) that took place in Milan on Sunday night. Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift were among the many that received honors and recognition.

As reported by Variety, of these, Bieber dominated the night, receiving five EMAs – the most number won by any artist – including Best Male; Best Look; Worldwide Act: North America; Best Collaboration for his work with Skrillex and Diplo on “Where Are You Now?”; and the Biggest Fans prize. He also performed his hit single, “What Do You Mean?”

“Wow, thank you,” Bieber said. “It’s been a long couple of years, um, I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognized for my music. I just want to say thank you to all of my fans, you guys are really incredible. I want to thank you mom and my dad, and God, and everyone who helped me get to this place. I love you, thank you.”

The show opened with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis giving a powerful and unforgettable performance of their song “Downtown.” They went on to receive the Best Video prize for “Downtown” later in the evening. Andrea Bocelli gave an energetic performance of “Time To Say Goodbye,” after which he joined Tori Kelly and performed a duet rendition of Pink’s “Learn To Love Again.”
